Do you ever wonder how to help a friend or loved one who is struggling with emotional issues? Do you wish you knew what to do when you feel overwhelmed with stress or anxiety? Are you confused about the difference between a psychiatrist, a therapist, and a counselor? This is your opportunity to ask these or any other questions you might have about mental and emotional health concerns to a panel of professionally trained experts who will be sharing their insights and experiences. Students can participate in the interactive session and will also have the chance to submit their questions anonymously in writing.
The three panelists:
1. Dr. Ayesha Mian, Dean of Students and Chair of Psychiatry at Aga Khan University
2. Dr. Humair Yusuf, Counselling Psychologist & Psychotherapist, Visiting Faculty of Psychology at IBA
3. Zehra Moinuddin, Integrative Psychodynamic Counsellor, in charge of the Wellness Counselling Department in a high school in Karachi
This event is the second in a series of conversations about mental health. It has been organized by the directors of a foundation being set up in Sabeen Mahmud’s memory, as a way of kicking off its mandate of supporting the mental well-being of children and young adults. This is the link for the first event that was held at T2F.
